Life on the Edge: An Entrepreneur’s Story of Survival during COVID-19
Life on the Edge is my story about surviving COVID-19 as an entrepreneur and small business owner outside of Philadelphia. I started documenting the happenings of each day about two weeks into lock down so that when I look back on this time I will be able to remember it for exactly what it is.
My goal with Life on the Edge is to provide an inside look into a small business struggling to survive, my first major crisis as a leader, and ultimately the process of saving a small company during a global disaster. I hope that by sharing my experience I might help other entrepreneurs and business owners during this time.
In Episode 26, I am worn out. I've been working crazy hours, routinely putting in 80+ hours per week. I imagine that how I'm feeling must be similar to how a marathon runner must feel mid-race - physically exhausted and mentally worn down. I know that if I'm feeling this way, there are people on my team who feeling it as well, and so I made sure to connect with a few people to talk about it. I find that talking things out, especially the things that I am frustrated about, helps to calm my mind and bring me back to center.
One of the more exciting conversations today was with a potential investor that I've been talking to about our growth strategy. I need capital to survive this crisis, but I also need to line up growth capital for opportunities that I believe will materialize after we get out of the pandemic. Tune in to hear more!
